Last updated June 2025. What we collect, why, and what we do not do with it.

The short version

We collect an email only if you give it to us, and we log basic, standard visit information to understand traffic. We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising. That is the whole of it.

What we collect

If you subscribe or contact us

We store the email address you enter, and for the contact form your name, message, and the type of inquiry. When you subscribe we also record that you agreed to these terms, including the date and the version you agreed to, because that consent record is the point of the checkbox.

When you visit

Like most sites, we log standard visit information: the page viewed, the site that referred you, your approximate location (country, region, and city) derived from your IP address, your IP address, and your browser type. This is used to understand how the site is found and used, and to keep it secure. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Why we collect it

The email is used only to send you the reading you asked for. The visit information is used only for analytics and security. We do not use any of it for advertising, and we do not build profiles to sell.

Who can see it

Your data is stored with standard service providers we use to run the site, currently including our hosting and database providers and our email-sending provider, who process it on our behalf. The economic data on the site comes from public sources such as the Federal Reserve. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

Cookies and tracking

The site uses only what is necessary to function and to measure traffic as described above. We do not use advertising trackers.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email. You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, through the contact page.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site grows, and will change the date at the top when we do.
